Wire EDM uses similar technology to that for dipping EDM.
In this specific application, a conducting wire acts as an electrode. The wire, stored on a reel, is changed continuously during processing, and because it is subjected to wear from these discharge and expansion stresses, it often ends up breaking, which can interrupt processing.
But by using these unique machines, we can work on hard materials (special steels, high speed steels, aluminum, brass, copper) or those hardened by thermal and chemical treatments. They are ideal for the construction of moulds, plug holes, slotted holes, precision cuts and profiling external and internal details.
